Cavendish wins the first stage of the Tour of Qatar in front of Kristoff and Modolo. Mörkov launched Kristoff with 200 metres to go but Kristoff was only strong enough to finish 5th ou of the 12 man group. Cavendish is starting a good Tour of Qatar after a rubbish Dubai Tour. Vandenbergh won the stage while Poels qon the GC. Vandenbergh attacked the peloton with 15 km. to go. With 5 to go he got away from his other companion and won the stage by a few seconds. Wouter Poels won the GC. That is Team Sky's second GC victory already!

Wouter Poels beats Aru and Izagirre to win the queen stage of the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana. Astana isolated Poels on the final climb, where he got away from Aru, Navarro and Rosa. He stayed away and won the stage while Aru and Rosa were caught by Intxausti and Izagirre, who finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.
